Future events
PLEASE ONLY BOOK ONTO EVENTS IF YOU WILL BE FREE TO TAKE PART THAT DAY
Below you will find a list of proposed future events. Arranging such events is a difficult juggling trick, making sure we have enough Scouts to make the event cost effective, ensuring we can actually book onto the event and/or campsite, and organising Leaders' lives to fit it all in!
It would help tremendously if you can let us know, using the electronic forms, if you intend to come to an event. It would also help if you let us know if you are definitely not coming as the sooner we have definite numbers the sooner we can make firm plans.
Also, we often get people booking onto events several times as they forget they've done it or aren't sure if their booking was received so we are going to add a list of those interested to each event so you can see if you have booked on.
We have had a few requests to find people willing to car share. We cannot do this. The insurance firm that covers Scouting events says that if we arrange car sharing it becomes our responsibility and therefore our liability. If we populate a list of who is going to each event parents can see who they could ask and arrange car sharing themselves.
Finally, some people have asked why we can't put events on a letter. We will not be doing this as letters are invariably found in Scouts' pockets weeks after and the cost of printer cartridges makes it uneconomical to print 36 letters - plus spares to replace those lost or washed in the machine! We keep everyone updated by email, Twitter, Facebook and this website.
